Well, these rules were posted, but not on the rule board. I figured that it'd be easier to see them here...
It has come to my attention that people have joined under the premise that erm.... they can throw off posts with one sentence IC, use chatspeak, forget to capitalize words like "I" and names, forget to put spaces after periods, and get away with it. Therefore, I have decided to change the rules slightly. The rules from before still apply, these just apply AS WELL.
1. ABSOLUTELY NO CHATSPEAK IC. NONENONENONENONENONE. Use proper English. This is NOT an IMing session with your friends.
2. NO SMILEYS IN RPING/FORMS. THIS IS THE SAME AS CHATSPEAK AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. However, if you somehow signify that the smiley is part of the OOC section of the post, that's fine.
3. Please signify the OOC or Of topic sections of your post with double parantheses ( Click Here ), brackets or double brackets [] or squiggly/double squiggly brackets {} or {{}} or "OOC:". Most people do fine with this one. I won't ban you if you don't, but it DOES make life easier for us.
4. If you absolutely MUST use chatspeak OOC, then please LIMIT it. Limit it a lot. Anyone using too much will be warned.
Abbreviations you may use OUT OF CHARACTER ONLY:
chars/charries (characters)
lol (laugh out loud)
brb (be right back, TAGBOARD ONLY)
gtg/g2g (got to go, TAGBOARD ONLY)
changing "y" words to "eh" (example Squeakeh instead of Squeaky)
Any and all smileys you can think of
You may NOT use "u" and "r". That's just crude, and typing two more letters will NOT kill you.
5. PLEASE use good grammar. donttypelikethisandexpecttogetawaywithit.notputtingspacesmakeslifetoughforpeople. If you couldn't read that, you know how I feel reading some posts. It says "Don't type like this and expect to get away with it. Not putting spaces makes life tough for people." Really, if you're not advanced enough in writing to know what good grammar is, you probably should not be part of this site.
6. Try to keep your IC posts above 50 words. It's not nearly as long as it sounds.
7. If you can't spell a word, please look it up or use a spell check...
